Bowral Classic October 2022 – my nasty fall!

I chose the 85km route for the Bowral Classic October 16th, 2022. Serge Debs went with me. Lise Clews and Nina Maggs went together. We all stayed at Kathy Wright’s beautiful home in Exeter.

I crashed half way through the route. I hit a dip on the road and lost control of my bike. I fell cleanly. I saw my bike go off me. I slided on the road. I could feel my body and my beard being scraped on the country road. A typical country road is rough and riddled with pot holes and dips and bumps.

On the way to Bowral. October 16, 2022 with Serge Debs.

Half way through the 75km route, an incident happened!

See the dip. This is where I lost control of my road bike. Fell at 44kmh

Several scrapes and scratches. Painful!

In an ambulance for the first time. A bumpy ride!

That’s the wonderful guy who helped me get back on my feet. Many thanks to him. I never got his name.

I realized I sustained a left shoulder injury. It got really bad on one early morning, December 2022. I have a subscapularis tendon tear. It can be confused for a heart attack! I was admitted to Ryde hospital to rule out that I had an heart attack. It was a scary moment.
